Bryson was awarded an Honorable mention for a trainee highlight award at the 2022 BRAIN Initiative meeting for his work, "A shortest path algorithm for reconstructing complex multimodal datasets in common coordinates"

Bryson's work has focused on registering multiple neuroimaging datasets into common coordinates. As the number of images grow, the number of pairwize registrations grows quadratically and quickly becomes unweildly. Bryson's framework models the set of images as nodes in a graph, and registrations as directed edges. This approach allows us to to reconstruct images in an space by composing transformations or their inverses across edges.
