A Computational Framework for Distributed Registration of Massive Neuroscience Images

Daniel J. Tward, Matthew McCormick, Gary Zhou, and Kenneth Lange, in funding, registration

We were awarded funding from the NIH to develop a distributed computational framework for registration of massive images.

Our proposal was funded for three years of support from the National Institutes of Health.

This project seeks to develop computational tools and algorithms for image registration. Our role is to design algorithms for registering timeseries of images by solving subproblems that only involve pairs of images. Our approach is to use an MM algorithm, a strategy pioneered by Ken Lange.
